Terms of Service
Terms and conditions for using Career Runway.
Last updated 20 June 2026
Career Runway is career intelligence, not career advice — the decisions stay yours. We tell you what AI is doing to the specific tasks in your job, with evidence on every claim.
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using Career Runway ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
When you create an account you confirm your agreement to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. We record the version you accept and the date. When we make material changes we may ask you to review and accept the updated version before continuing to use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Career Runway tells you what AI is doing to the specific tasks in your job, with evidence on every claim. A 10-minute assessment maps your role against verified capability evidence and adoption signals, then returns a personalised Brief: what's changing, what's stable, what we're watching. Every claim is sourced and confidence-graded. The Service produces personalised intelligence (The Brief, the Task Map, the Exposure Profile) using a combination of deterministic algorithms over a curated evidence graph and AI synthesis of that evidence.
Intelligence, not advice. Career Runway is career intelligence, not career advice — the decisions stay yours. It does not constitute professional career, legal, or financial counsel.
Confidence grades and a public track record. Every claim the Service makes carries a confidence grade (Confirmed / Plausible / Early Signal). Predictions are published to a public track record at /signals/calls and resolved against reality — including the ones we get wrong. Confidence grades are honest estimates, not guarantees.
3. Accounts
You may use Career Runway without an account for the assessment and its instant report. Some outputs require an account — including the Deep Brief (our full AI-researched synthesis), saved history, and coaching. Creating an account lets you save results, track your score over time, and access paid features. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer the scoring algorithms beyond what is publicly documented
- Abuse API rate limits, usage quotas, or attempt to circumvent access controls or plan gates
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation
- Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract data from the Service — including the evidence graph, role pages, signals, and track record — whether for republication, resale, or training AI models
- Attempt to manipulate the Service's AI systems — including injecting instructions through assessment answers, résumés, coach messages, or other inputs to alter how the Service behaves for you or anyone else
5. Intellectual property
The scoring engine, methodology, role templates, and interface design are proprietary. Your assessment inputs and Brief belong to you. You may export and share your Brief freely.
6. Paid features & subscription terms
Some features require a paid plan. All payments are processed by Stripe, our PCI-compliant payment processor.
What each plan includes (as at the Last-updated date above — the live quotas are always shown at /pricing):
Monthly quotas reset on the first day of each calendar month (UTC). We may adjust quotas; reductions for paid plans take effect from your next billing period.
Pro Pass (USD $29). A single non-recurring payment that grants full (Pro-level) access to the features above for thirty (30) calendar days from purchase, plus a permanent unlock of any Brief you generate during that window. Access to ongoing features automatically expires at the end of the thirty-day window — no renewal, no auto-charge.
Pro (USD $39/month or USD $390/year). A recurring subscription that renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal accessible in your account settings; cancellation stops the next renewal — you retain access for the remainder of the period already paid for.
Refunds. Subscription fees are generally non-refundable once a billing period has started. If you believe a charge is incorrect, or if Australian Consumer Law guarantees apply (the Service is not of acceptable quality, does not match its description, or is not fit for purpose), contact us at [email protected] within 14 days of the charge and we will work with you to resolve it.
Price changes. We may change subscription prices on renewal. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before any price change takes effect, giving you time to cancel before the new price applies.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Assessment scores are generated by algorithms and AI models, and may not perfectly reflect real-world outcomes. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any analysis.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Career Runway and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to career decisions made based on assessment results. Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) AUD $100.
9. Changes to terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. AI-generated outputs
Assessment results, Briefs (including the Deep Brief), coach and tutor responses, Studio lessons and evaluations, and role intelligence are produced using a combination of deterministic algorithms over our evidence graph and AI language models. AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies and is provided for informational purposes only. It does not constitute professional career, legal, or financial advice. You should not make significant career decisions based solely on Career Runway's output without independent professional consultation.
Where the Service makes claims about AI capability or adoption, each claim carries a source and a confidence grade, and a distinction is maintained between what AI can technically do, what is actually deployed, and what affects jobs. Predictions are published with their resolution history — including misses — at /signals/calls. None of this is a guarantee of outcomes.
11. Age requirement
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using Career Runway, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Career Runway and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
13. Dispute resolution
Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, either party may submit the dispute to mediation administered in Melbourne, Australia. If mediation is unsuccessful, disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Victoria, Australia. Nothing in this clause limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia, and the Commonwealth of Australia. The parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
15. Force majeure
Career Runway shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing obligations under these Terms due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government, internet outages, or failures of third-party service providers.
